Green Gables CF Freeze Tag

When searching for the first buck for our breeding program, I went to one of the most respected herds in the country–also in Wisconsin, Green Gables.

Below is what his breeder wrote about him, his dam, and his sire:

“This boy has stunning conformation and a beautiful background of lovely udders and tons of milk. His dam is super easy to milk and has a strong will to milk maintaining her production well through the end. His breed character is nice for having a sire with airplane ears!”

I was admittedly neverous about taking this next step in our farming journey–you, too, have probably read that keeping bucks is not for the faint of heart. However, I could not be any happier with our Beard. This guy could not be any sweeter! He is so affectionate and easy to handle, and I cannot wait to see his kids with our girls this spring! Even as he is an experimental second generation Mini Nubian, the milk production potential he brings and his temperament will complement our does and their excellent breed character and milking potential.
