Breeding Plan

2026 Kidding Season

Jupiter is our Startlight Ridge herd foundation herd sire. He was used to breed all three does–Starla, Misty, and Ruby–all were successfully bred September-October 2025.

Starla x Jupiter 2026

Starla successfully had twins unassisted–one doeling and one buckling.

Doeling: Starry Galaxy (Lexie)

We are excited to have Starla’s first doeling! I haven’t quite decided if I am going to retain her or not, so if you are interested, get in touch fast before I take her off the market.

Buckling: Copernicus (Ernie)

I am so in love with Ernie’s roaning! He is so beautiful. We made the decision to wether him already–I’d sell him to someone looking for a herd companion or a pet otherwise we will raise him for meat and preserve his gorgeous hide.

Misty x Jupiter

Misty surprised us by having triplets unassisted–two doelings and a buckling!

Doeling: Milky Way Mist (Millie)

This little girl is so full of sugar and spice and everything nice. She loves to play and explore but will then happily crawl in your lap for a nap. I am also undecided about whether I will retain Millie–act fast if she is your next must-have doe in your herd!

Doeling: Velvet Mist Eclipse (Ellie)

I couldn’t be happier to get two doelings out of our Misty and Ellie is quitely stunning. She is a snuggler just like her mama–if you’re looking for a friend who is sure to be a great mom who gives lots of delicious milk, Ellie would be a wonderful addition to your herd.

Buckling: Cosmo (Mo)

Misty’s boy has a white heart on his forehead reminiscent of the big white heart on his mama’s side. He is big and already showing really nice buck characteristics, so he will be available for a short while as a buckling. He couldn’t be sweeter–he’s outgoing and just wants to be held like his mom.

Misty’s FF udder is impressive–already well-placed teats and nice attachment. Her production is strong dam raising triplets and still giving us nearly 3 lbs of milk a day.

Ruby x Jupiter

Ruby also surprised us by having triplets. She kidded last and I managed to not miss this kidding. It was my first time being with one of my goat’s births, and her second kid sadly did not survive the birth. It was not Ruby’s fault, and I now know what I could have done better to help. She had two bucklings and a doeling–we lost one of the bucklings.

Doeling: Rose Quartz Dawn (Rosie Roo)

Rosie was born third and born alive and well while I was trying to revive buckling #2. She was the light after a dark moment, and I just love her for that. To get doelings from all three of my foundation does is such a gift, and I am having trouble deciding who to retain and who to sell. Rosie couldn’t be sweeter and has ears for days.

Buckling: Emerald (Merle)

Ruby’s first born triplet–he is smaller than his brother and sister but he is full of life and energy. He is all boy and available for a short time as a buckling.

I will have pictures of Ruby’s FF udder soon, but it is socked on and she required zero training on the milk stand.
